횡성군보건소는 오는 5월 4일부터 보건소 및 보건지소의 진료일을 조정·축소하고 순회진료 체제로 전환한다고 29일 밝혔다.

최근 전국적으로 공중보건의사 배치가 전년 대비 37.2%나 급감하는 등 의료 인력난이 심화되고 있다. 횡성군 역시 의과 공중보건의 미배치 상황이 발생함에 따라, 한정된 의료 인력을 효율적으로 운영하기 위해 보건소와 보건지소를 순회하며 진료를 이어갈 계획이다.

이에 따라 보건소는 주 4일, 각 보건지소는 주 2~3일 진료를 실시하며, 지역주민들의 진료 불편을 최소화하기 위해 변경된 순회진료 일정을 다각도로 적극 홍보할 방침이다.

김영대 횡성군보건소장은 “기간제 의사 채용 공고와 향후 보건기관 기능 개편안 마련 등 의료공백을 메우기 위해 최선을 다하고 있다”며 “지역주민들께서는 방문 전 보건소와 보건지소의 진료일을 사전 확인해 주시길 당부드린다”고 전했다.
